We're having a huge party on X-Mas night with all our favorite DJs: Mike Filly, Good Life Mike, Misterbradleyp, Peter Pleasurecruise, Onit, Jugoe, and Chris Cuts! Admission is free and doors open at 9 PM.
Here's a new Holiday mix from Misterbradleyp to get you in the mood!
Here is an oldie (but goodie) mix our manager and Saturday resident DJ, Misterbradleyp, made a couple years ago. This is a pretty good example of the music that is played on Sundays at our "The Get Up!" party. Misterbradleyp - B Side Mix
This Friday we have popular L.A. based dubstep producer/DJ 12th Planet landing at the B Side. Limited presale tickets are currently available at the B Side and Heart & Sole on Coventry for $5.00. Our show with 12th Planet is coming up on Friday, November 27 (day after Thanksgiving). If you like dubstep or had fun at our Rusko show, this is definitely recommended. Since it's a holiday weekend with a big name act, early arrival is suggested.

BTW, 12th Planet was just named as a Top 25 act by URB Magazine. Check out the online mag here:
Our friend Low B makes his second visit to the B Side. You may know him from his days with Diplo as the Hollertronix duo, or his tours with M.I.A. as her DJ, or even from the famous message board that bares his name. This time he's also bringing along a friend - DJ Sega from Diplo's popular Mad Decent record label.
Here's a little video I found that gives some background on who Low B (formerly Low Budget) is:
On Sunday at our popular The Get Up! party, we welcome the indie pop band Social Studies in from San Francisco. Show is free for 21+ and $5 for unders.
Here a clip of them opening for the Handsome Furs in San Fran:
Last, we'd like to thank everybody who attended our Halloween party ... it was a blast! Special thanks go out to our sponsors - Metromix, 3 Olives, Kraken Rum and Shutter Booth.
Here are the photos from the Shutter Booth ... some of these are hysterical:
The last time we hosted a Prince vs Michael party (with DJs John Arnold & Frankie Bank$), the place was packed. We assume it will be even more crazy this time around.
To get you in the mood, check out this new Michael Jackson mix CD from the great Jazzy Jeff. Just click on the link and you will see it on his site:

Thanks to everybody who came out during our 6 Year Anniversary B-Day week. The Scion A/V Tour featuring Toxic Avenger, Frankie Chan, Mixhell and local opener Brent Still Life went off nicely. Props to Scion for putting on this show and supplying boxes of dope Toxic Avenger CDs (check for the Switch remix), flash drives and cool magazines (one featured an article on Disco Donnie!).
Igor, one half of Mixhell (and founder of Sepultura), played a full drum kit while his wife spun tracks!
At our 6 Year Party on Friday, Tommie Sunshine played his first B Side set. His promised batch of quirky Dutch tracks, Chicago bangers and 90's rave anthems made the B Side floor go nuts.

More dubstep coming to the B Side! If you were at our Rusko show, you know how much Clevelanders are digging the dubz these days. Next up is L.A. dubstep champion - 12th Planet on Friday, November 27. Should be a big night!
B Side favorite, Eliot Lipp, returns with his new project Dark Party on Monday, October 12. Watch for comp tickets, as we are circulating them at various B Side nights.
Check out these dope tracks from Dark Party and their opener - Mux Mool.
Christopher Mercer, aka Rusko was born in Leeds in 1985 to a musical family. From day one Rusko was surrounded by music. Whether it be his family’s pianos, guitars, banjos and saxophones…or the heavy reggae and dub sound systems of later years in Leeds, music has always been an integral part of Rusko’s life.
After graduating from Leeds university with a degree in musical performance, Rusko discovered the world of dubstep through Sub Dub and a debut appearance from the Digital Mystikz. Having spent the past 10 years making future dub alongside Leeds very own Iration Steppas, Rusko connected with the sound and moved down to London to further advance his musical opportunities with Sub Soldiers label mate Caspa.
Veering away from the dark, serious side of the sound Rusko brought a highly driven energy and fun approach to the dubstep massive and quickly coined his own take on the genre and turned the scene upside down. His sound appealed to many people outside of the dubstep world as his productions became more adventurous in formula, sound and energy. His huge hit Cockney Thug has been played by everyone from Pete Tong, Switch, Diplo and Santogold, and has been remixed by Buraka Som Sistema, Diplo, Drop the Lime and the Scratch Perverts.
Now at 23, Rusko is only in first gear, with collaborations on the table with the likes of Switch, Diplo , Yo Majesty and Wiley, the future sure is looking bright. Already setting the radio airwaves alight with his own productions and remixes of artists like Adele and A-Trak featuring Kid Sister, Rusko is headed in the right directions. Onwards, upwards and far beyond what most producers can dream of.
The Toxic Avenger, a.k.a. Simon Delacroix, is an electro thrash producer hailing from Paris, France. Taking cues from intelligent hardcore and punk, all the way to 60’s pop, The Toxic Avenger brings us a unique blend of melodic rage and screaming synths that create a sonic epic audiences can lose their minds to. Toxic has come a long way since 2007’s Superheroes release. Where we last left off, our hero’s shimmering, distortioned riffs called for a new generation of dance staples. The colorful and hopeful single became the theme to Toxic’s rise to power, and helped shape the standards to which we have come to know in the electro community.
Previously hailed as one of Rolling Stone’s Artists To Watch, The Toxic Avenger has secured a place as one of the top electro producers, and has provided his signature touch on a number of remixes for artists such as Ladytron, Late of the Pier, Chromeo, and IHC labelmates Heartsrevolution. Additionally, he has performed worldwide with a slew of respectable artists including MSTRKRFT, Late of the Pier, Black Lips, Yelle, The Teenagers, Vitallic, and the infamous Public Enemy.
Franki Chan
Franki Chan is one of the leaders of the indie DJ movement in the USA, is an accomplished illustrator and he is the owner of IHEARTCOMIX, a lifestyle brand that encompasses a record label, an event production company, a popular blog, and a marketing/promotion company, among other things. As a DJ, FRANKI has traveled the world, rocking dance parties from east to west and sharing the turntables with the best of the best, helping to influence a whole new generation of DJs.
Mixhell
Iggor and Laima Cavalera are a husband-and-wife dance music group from Sao Paolo, Brazil. They have released 10 original tracks, remixed over 25 songs, and have been remixed over 20 times.
When Iggor was 15 he founded Sepultura with his brother Max. During the next 20 years Iggor sold over 15 million albums, toured stadiums around the world, and is generally acknowledged to be one of the greatest heavy metal drummers of all time.
In 2006 Iggor grew tired of Sepultura and was ready to take some much needed time off. But he soon discovered the joy of dance music. He and Laima began making tracks, DJing, and linking up with some of dance music heaviest hitters. Before long they were being mentored and championed by Soulwax/2ManyDJs, Justice, MSTRKRFT, Diplo, James Murphy and Busy P.
Welcome to the new B Side Liquor Lounge blog. If you live in Cleveland, you probably know who we are and what we do. If you don't ... well, let me give you a brief synopsis. We're pretty much the only club in town that consistently offers a wide range of new cutting edge dance and rock music in the form of DJ shows and live band concerts. When artists like Diplo, Questlove, Ladytron, and others want to spin in Cleveland ... you'll find them at the B Side. We've also hosted dozens of national touring bands like Dub Trio, Professor Murder, Young Love and All Leather.
We are located in the heart of the Coventry Village in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Upstairs you will find our sister club, the Grog Shop. The Grog is a Cleveland institution that serves as our town's premier indie concert venue. Everybody from Oasis to KRS-One has performed there.
Now that you have an idea of who we are ... let's move forward.
This Saturday at the B Side we will be hosting the Museum of Contemporary Art's (MOCA) Fall Opening After-party. The featured DJ is Sabbo (pictured above) from the Israeli DJ collective Soulico. After-party begins at 10 PM and there is no cover. Age restriction is 21+.
Hit up itunes for Soulico's new album Exotic On The Speaker (Jdub Records). The album will hit stores in October.
Sabbo has worked with everybody from Amanda Blank to the Marley brothers. Check out this remix he did for Kanye West ...
